Water. The great nourisher. The great refresher. The great cleanser. The great sustainer of life. Water is one of the most profound blessings enjoyed by humankind and by virtually every living creature on this planet. Here in America, we take it for granted that each time we turn a tap, we will receive an outpouring of fresh, glorious, relatively inexpensive and safe water. We can drink it, cook with it, bathe our children in it and clean our homes with it giving very little thought to where it came from or how much of it remains.
